Jack Sock Playing in the U.S. Open This WeekJack Sock, 17 year old son of Larry and Pam Sock, is realizing a life-long dream this week. He will be competing against the best tennis players in the world at the U.S. Open. Jack won the USTA Boys 18 National Championship last week to earn his way to Flushing Meadows.

Deeter and McGerr Win Men's Team ChampionshipCongratulations to Doug Deeter & Kevin McGerr for winning the 2010 Men's Team Championship! On their route to victory, McGerr & Deeter birdied every derby hole (a Firethorn first).
Finishing second was the team of Rex Largen & Tim Conzemius.
Jay Muller & Beau Reid finished in third place.
Thanks to everyone that participated in this year's event!

Firethorn AGAIN Well Represented @ Men's State AmateurCongratulations to Andy Sajevic for winning the Nebraska State Amateur event this year. Andy beat his father John by just a few strokes - the torch has passed.
Other Top 10 Finishers from Firethorn included:
- John Sajevic & Mike Coatman tied for 3rd while Dan Huston was 10th.
Firethorn had 13 of its members finish in the top 50.

Development @ Firethorn TerraceFirethorn has developed 20 single family residential lots on our West course with 3 new lots in the original development. Many have already been sold.

Please go to "History" - "The Early Years" section on the Web site (or just click this link) to download and play the video. It lasts about 20 minutes and requires a high speed Internet connection.

The Omaha World-Herald, the largest newspaper in Nebraska said of Firethorn Golf Club:
Seven holes at Firethorn are on the Midlands Best list, determined by
a panel of 16 club pros and amateur golfers from Nebraska and Western
Iowa. Three of the four par-3’s are Firethorn’s – the 4th, 13th and
17th, along with three par-4’s and a par-5.
“Ask any player if he would be happy with 3’s on 4, 13 and 17 at
Firethorn and the answer is yes,” said panelist John Sajevic of
Fremont, a three time state champion. “Those three holes bring
scores of 5, 6 and 7 into play.”
Panelist Greg Neujahr, pro at Champions Run in Omaha said: “Firethorn, just keeps getting better.”
